How Long Should Terp Spray Sit on Flower?

The rest time depends on the result you want. For a light aroma application, Drew recommends about 12–24 hours in a sealed container sized to the flower. For a heavier, flavor-focused application, he says to wait at least 30 minutes before use so the liquid carriers can dissipate.

Overview

Drew separates two reasons for letting BagPop terp spray sit after application. A light aroma application, around one to three sprays per ounce with the included sprayer, benefits from about 12–24 hours in a sealed bag or jar. He recommends a container close in size to the flower so aroma is less likely to disperse into excess headspace, and says frequent opening releases it. A heavier application intended to affect flavor has a different minimum: wait at least 30 minutes for some carrier components to dissipate before use. The video explains why the 30-minute and 24-hour answers describe different goals rather than conflicting instructions.

  • For light aroma use with roughly one to three BagPop sprays per ounce, Drew recommends about 12–24 hours sealed.
  • For heavier flavor use, he says to wait at least 30 minutes before use.
  • Choose a container with limited extra air space and avoid opening it repeatedly while the aroma settles.

Use the BagPop application guide to match your amount and rest time.

Those different things have different wait times.

[0:00] Okay, so you’ve sprayed terp spray on your weed and you’re like, how long do I need to let it sit before I can use it? What do I do now? And I got to tell you, I watch a lot of things online. I watch my competition, I read their instructions. I understand what people are doing. I like product research and the amount of crazy things that I have seen these people say.

[0:19] I can understand why you may have some questions or could possibly be confused, but the goal here today is to educate you, let you know exactly what you do and don’t need to do and why, and then let you become a savvy business owner and professional. So My name is Drew. I’m the owner of Mr. Extractor, and today I’m here to teach you the secrets to success in one of the most lucrative new sections of the cannabis industry, terp sprays.

[0:44] My name is Andrew Jones, and about 15 years ago, I invented the first terpene profiles in a lab in my bedroom closet. Through Facebook Live, I taught the world how to create cannabis vape pens, spawning dozens of new terpene companies, hundreds of new businesses, thousands of new jobs, millions of happy users, and an industry worth over $6 billion a year. Now I’m back out of retirement to show you the next evolution of terpenes BagPop terp spray.

[1:14] So when you spray terps, you’re trying to achieve two different things. And those different things have different wait times. So let’s start with aroma. You’re just trying to add aroma and you follow the directions. You’re using our spray bottle. You’re using 1 to 3 sprays per ounce and you’re just trying to add aroma. Now what you’re doing is you’re covering usually just the surface of your cannabis with our product, but you want it to get into the center. You want full saturation. So what do you do?

[1:40] You take that product and you put it in a bag. And what’s happening, it’s in different places, but at room temperature the bag is sealed. Whatever the container — the jar, the bucket, the bag. I suggest something small so that you’re not wasting it in a big volume of air. As it gently warms, don’t heat it, but as it hits room temperature, it’s going to slowly evaporate off. Where does it go?

[2:01] Well, if you have a small bag, it’s going to be sucked into the driest part of the bag. That’s just basic chemistry, and that is the dried cannabis. So it’s going to go off the wet part of the cannabis, evaporate and suck back into the dry cannabis, and it’s going to saturate itself. How long does that take? Well, the longer you wait, the better. As long as it’s in a sealed container that’s proportional to the size of your items. So let me explain that.

[2:27] Imagine you have this much weed and you put it in a container this big. Now you’ve sprayed this and you’ve put it in here that’s evaporating off, and it’s filling this entire volume of area with the smell and you’re losing it. And when you pop it open, all of that’s going to evaporate and go off. Imagine if you took this much weed and put it in a jar this big. Anything that evaporates off goes back into the cannabis.

[2:50] So you want to get your container roughly the same size as your cannabis. That way, as it evaporates, it reintroduces itself, saturates itself again. How long? The longer the better for full saturation. But I would say anywhere from 12 to 24 hours is probably appropriate. And then you can just leave it sealed. Don’t forget, every time you open it up, it goes away. Not all of it, but I mean, that’s that’s how it got there in the first place. That’s what aromatics do.

[3:18] All aromatics from any company period is going to do that. But the good thing is you can just add a little bit more. So you want to open it once or twice. If it’s too strong, open it, smell it, waft it, close it, get it to the right level and then leave it alone. That’s just how these things work. That’s how normal terpene works on cannabis. Have you noticed with your bag, the more you open it, the less it smells. All right. So the other application is you’re adding flavor.

[3:42] And this is a little bit different when you’re adding flavor. Whether you’re adding it flavor that you can taste or it’s you can taste it and everyone can smell it. You’re just adding more whether you’re doing it with drops, whether you’re just spraying more, you’re just really increasing the volume of the bag. Pop terp spray on your product. That’s a little bit different. You’re going to have a lot of aroma no matter what you do, because you’re using a heavier application. I don’t really think you need to let it sit that long.

[4:10] You’re letting it sit for a different reason now. Now when you’ve applied more liquid, you’re dealing more with the carrier agents that I’m using in my formulations. When you put my product on your product in a liquid form, it is designed so that some things leave and some things stay. It’s kind of complicated, but that’s just how it is. So what I recommend is when you add the BagPop to your product in a larger amount, you have to wait at least a half an hour

[4:40] for certain things to leave so that the product is tasty and usable. If you light it earlier. Some of the compounds, some of the flavors, they’re flammable. And what will happen is you’re going to take a bud, you’re going to put it in a pipe, you’re going to light it on fire, and it’s literally going to catch on fire. What is that? Those are the flavor compounds catching on fire. So don’t introduce flame to it. And that’s that’s normal. You know what Cologne is right? You know most fragrances are flammable.

[5:07] I mean it’s common sense. Don’t light them on fire. But the way that our product again is formulated different than others is once those things leave, it smells like it’s supposed to. It’s just the way it’s formulated without getting into some complex chemistry. So again, for aroma, spray it on 12 to 24 hours in a sealed small container that’s appropriate to the size of your product. Don’t open it a ton of times.

[5:30] If you do, spray more whatever For adding flavor, spray it, give it a half an hour to rest, and then you can use it as you want. Pretty basic stuff. My name is Drew.
