Science Of Terpenes

Why Growers Dislike Terp Spray (and Why Buyers Want Options)

Why do growers dislike terp spray? Drew explains why changing a carefully grown flower can feel wrong to a cultivator, then considers why some customers still want flavored choices.

Overview

Drew speaks as both a long-time grower and a terpene-product developer. He acknowledges the time, money, and emotion that go into cultivation, and why adding a flavor afterward can feel like changing the grower’s work. He then shifts to the buyer: in his view, cannabis shoppers may want the same range of flavors and styles they see in other consumer products. The video discusses a possible gap between what growers value and what customers buy, including Drew’s own observations about flavored products moving through the supply chain. His practical suggestion is to preserve the original flower while testing additional flavored options for customers who want them.

[0:00] Why do growers hate terp spray?

[0:02] If you mention terp spray or flavored weed to most growers, you’re going to get dirty looks in a year. Right. That sucks. And why is it? It’s actually really simple.

[0:11] It’s an emotional response in a business aspect and in general I don’t agree with that.

[0:15] And I’m going to explain why that these growers are just leaving tons of money on the table, and maybe rightfully so. My name is drew. I’m the owner of Mr.

[0:23] Extractor, and I’m here to teach you the secrets of one of the cannabis industry’s most popular new sectors terp sprays.

[0:31] My name is Andrew Jones, and about 15 years ago, I invented the first terpene profiles in a lab in my bedroom closet.

[0:39] Through Facebook Live, I taught the world how to create cannabis vape pens, spawning dozens of new Turpin companies, hundreds of new businesses, thousands of new jobs,

[0:49] millions of happy users, and an industry worth over $6 billion a year.

[0:54] Now I’m back out of retirement to show you the next evolution of terpenes BagPop terp spray.

[1:03] I’ve been growing cannabis for over 30 years. A lot of it.

[1:07] I fully understand the mental and physical aspects of growing a large amount of weed, and I also understand how terpene sprays work.

[1:15] I own a terpene company.

[1:16] I’ve invented a lot of things in life, and I understand where there is a correlation and a discrepancy between both of these things.

[1:23] So very simply, growers as a profession spend their time in their lives to make the perfect cannabis.

[1:32] They want it to smell good. They want it to look good. They want it to get you high. They want to produce it. There’s so much work they put in. I respect them so much. I’ve done it myself.

[1:41] The amount of time and heartbreak and effort and cost that it goes in to make something amazing. And then you want to spray cherry on it and they they hate you for it.

[1:50] And I get it.

[1:52] But what they don’t understand, and it’s unfortunate, is that this is an emotional response to a business situation.

[2:00] And one of the first rules of business is when you start acting emotionally, you usually fail in business. And why do I say that? It’s because it’s a feeling.

[2:08] It’s because they are emotional about the hard work they put in. And most growers have a disconnect from their customer base most of the time.

[2:16] Not always, but most of the time this cannabis goes through quite a few hands before it gets where it’s going, and there’s a large disconnect between the grower and the end user.

[2:26] And you know, growing is a passion.

[2:30] It’s something that people enjoy, but at the consumer level, they’re spraying the hell out of it. And it’s not because it’s bad, it’s human nature.

[2:37] And I’ve explained this in a lot of other videos, and I’m going to explain it again to you today. It’s very relevant. Everything is a commodity in general.

[2:46] Everything boils down to a commodity. Things at the grocery store, your vehicle houses, everything. Sodas.

[2:51] And one thing about these commodities is they all come in different colors, different flavors, and different options.

[2:57] When you buy bread, you have basic white bread, and then you’ve got 75 different versions of bread and they all sell really well.

[3:05] You have basic soda, and then you have 100 different flavors of soda, every different color or every different flavor. Candy is the same way.

[3:13] That’s a caffeine and sugar delivery system, a soft drink, but people want to taste it and see it in different colors. Your car comes in many different colors. Why?

[3:22] It’s because human beings, especially at this time and age, in America and this century, we’re used to having options and we’ve developed our favorites.

[3:30] And that’s what we’ve come to expect from all different products. Cannabis is no different.

[3:34] Why is it when you go to a dispensary, it’s not just the one type of cannabis that has the highest THC percentage and nothing else?

[3:44] Because that’s not the most important thing. People want to see different things. They want to smell different things. They want a different high. And even if they smoke the same thing forever, they get tired of it.

[3:53] And they’re used to choices.

[3:54] So they go to a dispensary and they have a choice of 75 different types of weed that is expanding now.

[4:01] Now it’s not only 75 different types of weed, it’s 75 different types of flavor. And that’s totally okay.

[4:07] But that is evoking an emotional response from the growers who put all their hard work into it and aren’t understanding how the market is changing. And it’s a big mistake.

[4:15] It’s a huge financial mistake. And I’ll explain why.

[4:18] Because that grower is taking his cannabis and he’s selling it inexpensively, relatively, whatever it is $300,

[4:27] $200, $1,000, whatever it is, as it goes through the chain and it gets sprayed, the value is tripled four times.

[4:34] Five times. I’ve seen it go up ten times.

[4:36] I know people that buy cannabis for $300 a pound and sell it for $3,000 to $5,000 a pound after they spray it.

[4:44] That’s a lot of money that gets left on the table. But a lot of growers just can’t do it. They just can’t bring themselves to do it.

[4:50] It goes against everything they’ve ever learned and everything they know, and they’re losing a ton of money. That’s why growers hate terp spray.

[4:59] It’s a mistake. And I’ll tell you why. Because you can take that perfect cannabis. You can sell it as is.

[5:05] And you can also offer options that are flavored. You don’t have to just get rid of your cannabis. Sell it alongside with five other flavors.

[5:15] People still get your fantastic cannabis. They still have the option and you are giving your market choices. If you are a philanthropist, you’re a humanitarian.

[5:25] You’re you’re running a charity.

[5:26] You want to sell your stuff super cheap and watch everybody double and triple it all the way down until they’re making riches while you don’t, I respect you. Good for you.

[5:33] If you’d like to get some of that money, I highly recommend you look into turbo sprays and figure out what the end user is doing.

[5:39] Because I’m telling you, I run a terpene company, a worldwide terpene company, and I sell the shit out of this stuff.

[5:47] Tons of it. And that means people are buying it.

[5:49] I answer the phone, I answer every phone call that comes to the company, and I speak with people on the ground. This is what people want, and it’s okay if you don’t want to sell it.

[5:57] But I’m telling you, somebody else does. So hopefully you take this knowledge, you learn a little bit from it. Hopefully you buy my terpenes, I’ll sell you terp sprays.

[6:06] I’ll give you samples, whatever you want. And if you don’t want to shop with me, that’s totally fine. I hope you find yourself a little bit more educated on the subject today. Again, my name is Drew.

[6:14] I’m the owner of Mr. Extractor. I am always here for you. You can call me at 800. That is the phone number to my company.

[6:21] And I personally always answer the phone calls. I respect your money. I respect your time.

[6:26] If you’re willing to buy my product and give me a chance, you have the right to speak with me.

[6:29] We always have fantastic coupons, 30 to 70% off on almost everything on the site all the time, and I always send out something free in every single order because I just appreciate your business.
